MID LIFE TREATISE

new horizons

we all reach a point in life, some of us earlier than others, when we feel like we are at a crossroads. it can take any form and express itself to us in any way, but it will be taylor-made to fit our particular life. we created it. we chipped away at life in our own way and as sure as rain it will come down on us when we least expected it. i read somewhere that we teach people how to treat us and i thought, to some extent, that is true. i don't wholly believe that we are the sum of our signals to others but i believe that our behaviour models others perception of us almost entirely. having said that, i do think that our true selves is under the surface in many ways. we may need to bring more of ourselves out if we want to have a different impact on others. to a large extent IT IS up to us to make IT happen.

we have to ask ourselves the hard questions when we come to the crossroads of life. did we communicate the feelings that we had or did we hide them. do we expect people to read our minds? sometime i think that we do.

in the chatroom of the show LOLVITRON, i have been talking about mid-life a little (along with all the other rubbish that spews out of my head) and i have been hearing from others that they too have had to come to terms with the challenges of being misrepresented, misunderstood, and otherwise miscombobulated as the evaluate their lives.

let's make a pact right here to speak more openly about our feelings and not be afraid to let er dangle, as they say. we need to LET OUR FEELINGS SHOW as the saying goes.

reach out and touch somebody's hand
make this world a better place if you can
