wow
i was talking with a friend of mine about the issues surrounding the old global warming thing and all the gloom and doom that comes with that territory. a movie that he had just seen called "Everything's Cool" was depressing the hell out of him. so we sat there talking about the prospect for our children and their children and we couldn't help but fall sort of silent.
eventually i added that the worst part is that i haven't done much to help the situation. i have two cars, a house with all the amenities (i.e. tv's, microwaves, air conditioning, furnace, lights burning, stereos, sensors with batteries, kids toys with batteries, cell phones, computers and all the rest). i kind of felt as if it was a bit hypocritical to count myself among the people that are "doing something" about the situation. i mean, i try not to use plastic bags but when it boils right down to it i am a gigantic consumer of all that global warming has to offer and a drawer full of old AC adapters to boot.
how will it all play out? how will we change? when will we change? is it too late for change? all these questions loom and there doesn't seem to be too much we can do...
LOL
